thanks a lot for posting that leslie that was really helpful. i was wondering if the baby could get killed if any damage was done to the placenta and what could cause that damage.
So that's how the belly button forms! That's pretty cool! So, does that mean that every umbilical cord has a different shape? Because everybody has a different belly button. Besides the belly button discovery, the video was very helpful Leslie! And it was so cool how they showed it in different shades of yellow and gold!
The narrator sounds so bored. The background music is also boring piano music.I'm not sure what kind of accent she has. The facts are pretty strait.I like the part where it shows the different times of the evolving embryo into a fetus and how long it grows and comparisons to everyday objects (peas?).
i'm not sure if this is true, but i heard somewhere that the fetus also sucks its thumb for nourishment, even with the placenta and umbilical cord. This was a pretty cool video. It seemed simpler than the textbook.
So this is what happens when we were inside our mothers! Commenting to Karen's comment: it'd be pretty freaky/cool if we did suck our thumbs for nourishment. -Annique
This is a really interesting video. I was wondering, when a child is born, what happens to the placenta? Is it still attached to the baby? Is it in the mother? And when they cut the umbilical cord, what happens to the part still attached to the mother? Thanks Leslie! -Claire, 7H
Woah... This video was so interesting... It shows how everything happens, step by step! It also gives examples of the embryos size... Thanks so much leslie... Also, I now see how the belly button is formed... I heard it dries out and eventually falls off :D

Wow! It's so weird how its the shape of a pea and then in just a few months it can grow into a baby!

The fetus grows really fast!!! That's amazing... but if the fetus is that big at 4 months, what happens during the last about 5 months?
