I've always wondered what the difference was between type 1 and type 2 diabetes, now I know the difference! Type 1 is when the body produces too little insulin, and type 2 is when the cell receptors of the liver don't receive the insulin. Thanks for posting this Leslie! It was really interesting!
This isn't very related, but I was surfing the web, and I found this awesome website!! http://hes.ucfsd.org/gclaypo/nervoussys.html#Parts of the nervous system it is very interesting!
This isn't related either, but it's a good source for biology and explaning biological terms. I searched it up for a hw a while back, like i searched up a math dictionary for a winter break assignment last year.... :)
This is really cool! I have an Uncle with Diabetes 1, and so now I understand what really is happening in his body. Thank you! I believe the answer to Zoe's question is that people (like my Uncle) can get diabetes 1 as an adult too!

ReplyDeleteThanks for posting this Leslie! It was really interesting!
Is this how you get fat? When the liver stores the extra glucose as fat?

ReplyDeleteWell, that's interesting! So if you're an adult, you can only get type 2 diabetes? O.O
ReplyDeleteThis was a great visual of how type 1 and 2 diabetes are different. Thank you
ReplyDeleteThis is a very good animation. I liked how it had labels.
ReplyDeleteIs there also a disease for not producing enough glucagon or the glucagon not affecting the liver?

This helps me understand this process more!
ReplyDeleteThanks Leslie! :D

wow this is a really cool animation thanks for posting leslie!!!
ReplyDeleteOn the news, i just heard about a disease in which the enzymes can't break down the glycogen and you start to swell.
ReplyDeleteThat animation is extremely clear! It's easier to understand if you can see the actual process of the insulin doing it's job.
