  5. Someone in my family has high cholesterol and so they can not eat certain foods or their arteries leading to their heart will become blocked, causing a heart attack.

  6. Bad cholesterol is when extra LDL (bad) cholesterol flows in the blood. This can slowly clot in the internal walls of the channels that feed the brain as well as the heart. It can create plaque, which is a substantial, solid deposit that can thin the arteries and compose them to be less malleable.
Approximately one-fourth of blood cholesterol is transported by high-density lipoprotein (HDL). HDL cholesterol is also entitled “good” cholesterol. This is since high levels of HDL seem to protect against heart attack. Experts in the medical area think that HDL has a tendency to carry cholesterol away from the arteries and to the liver. At the liver it’s passed from the person.

  8. Now I know what cholesterol is for.
I always knew that we needed it as we do most substances in our body but never knew what it was for and what it did. Cool.

    Thanks Leslie!

  9. i watched this show last night about the human body. it had this one part where they explained how fat can clog your arteries, which can lead to a heart attack or stroke. it also showed clips from a really tiny camera that went in someone's body. the person must have been really fat, because there was fat everywhere! the fat managed to seep into every part of the body, including the arteries. it was really gross and yellow!
